What is a Loading?
Loading is the final step in the OrderGrid app's warehouse management flow that follows Unloading > Receiving > Picking > Packing > Loading . It is used to load the packed items on the orders from the warehouse into the freights/trucks for shipping them to customers.
To access Loading, navigate to
☰ > Warehouses > Loading
Create a New Loading
To create a new loading, follow the steps 🪜:
On the Loading screen, click
+ New Loading.On the next screen, under the
Loading Infotab, enter the loading information. By default, Loaded by, and Loaded at (date) are added. You can update that information if needed.By default, the Status is
Completed.If required, you can add any notes.
Under
deliveriestab, click+ Add delivery.Next, if a carrier check is needed, toggle on the Carrier check is required, and another tab caller
Carrier Checklistwill appear besideDeliveries. Otherwise, skip this step if not needed.Click the
Select Logocontainer to upload any picture related to the loading, if required.Click on the
Deliveriestab.Click
Add Deliverybutton.Under
Alltab, select a carrier from theCarrierdropdown.Once a carrier is selected, all orders being shipped with the same carrier label will be added to the deliveries list.
If you toggled the
Carrier Check is requiredin step 6; make sure to fill out the form underCarrrier Checklist. Otherwise, skip to the next step.To complete the Loading, click
Save.
Close Shipments
Certain carriers require the warehouses to generate the Close Shipments (e.g. Canada Post).
To perform the close shipment action, follow the Steps 🪜:
On the Loading Screen, click
Close Shipements.On the Close Shipment window, select a carrier from the drop-down.
Click,
Close Shipment.
Performing close shipment action will generate a manifest with all the orders for that carrier.
To fetch the manifest, click Action ( ⋮ three-dot icon ) on the loading row, and click Get Carrier Manifest from the options, or click 📘 blue file icon beside the carrier name.
Definitions:
Close Shipments: The shipment being closed means that the goods have left the sender, and no further changes to the content of the shipment is allowed.
Manifest: A manifest or scan form is a document generated by couriers containing shipment information. Commonly used when generating multiple shipments at once.
View Loading Details
To view the loading details, click the loading row on the list of loadings or click Action ( ⋮ three-dot icon ) and click Show Loading Details .
Delete a Loading
To delete the loading, click Action ( ⋮ three-dot icon ) and click Delete Loading Record .
💡 Note: To avoid loading express orders, toggle on Skip loading for express orders under Warehouse Settings.
